The Love Lives Here Bow

Swags

Next, make two identical swags using floral tape to hold them together.

Swag Number 2

Keep adding your flowers and foliage until you have a balanced arrangement and then lay out your swags on the wreath to see how they look. They should look near identical.

Placement

Place the swags, the bow, and the adornment on the wreath and wire or use pull ties to attach them to the wreath base

Adornment

On this adornment, I pulled the original foliage off as it did not match this wreath. I removed the hanger and then attached the foliage that matched.

Placement of Bow, Swags and The Adornment

Next, I placed my swags and the bow along with the adornment onto the wreath.

Securing the Arrangement

Once I have all the material placed exactly how I want it, I will begin attaching everything to the wreath. For this wreath, I will be using pull ties to secure everything. After all of it is secure I will fluff and pull the swags into position and attach the bow. After I have done that I will hot glue any filler flowers that might be necessary and get my finished look

The Final Product

Here is my completed wreath and how it looks on different backgrounds.

Door Width

This should have been a journey in measuring the door width before construction which I failed to do not realizing the width between the two doors would have been a problem. In this case it as it turned out this wreath did not fit between the doors where it was going to hang so I had to do a little surgery to reduce the wreaths height. Originally it was about 6 inches and nearly 2 times the height that would fit between the storm door and the entry door. So I proceeded to reduce it in size.

Start Over or Split It

I had to make a decision to either take the entire wreath apart and find a narrower base or split the base it was on. I decided to try splitting it.

Pruning

As I worked the wreath to split it I pulled the grapevines apart and snipped it where necessary. Then used pull ties to keep both halves of the wreath together. I could have used another hand to help space it out after I got about half way around and used a tin can to help push it apart.

Eventually I got it apart. I secured it and did a little pruning on the front side to get the wreath to the right height. It had to be reduced to 3 inches to fit between the doors.

Swapping Fluff for Flat

I had to remove the big fluffy rose heads like the on on the left and replaced them with the more flatter opened variety. Had this particular wreath been done in all live material I could have never been able to do any of the reducing in size and would have had to start completely over.

The Final Outcome

In the outcome, all is well. The wreath was able to be reduced to size and was not getting squashed between the two doors.
