Making The Bow

I chose a wide wire floral ribbon and used my Bowdabrah bow maker while making the bow.

First I cut a gold string about 12 inches long and folded it back placing the fold side on one side of the bow maker. This loop of string will go to help tie the bow together in the end.

Next, I took about 18 inches of the wire floral ribbon and placed it in the bowmaker. Dovetailing the ends and putting the center of this piece of ribbon in the maker. After this I dovetailed the end of the ribbon still on the spool and placed this tail into the bow maker and started looping the ribbon back and forth shortening up the loops slightly after tucking them into the maker and going back and forth to get the desired loops for making my bow.

After getting the desired number of loops I made the final loop on top of the pile of loops in the maker.

This final loop does not get folded back on one side of the maker but went over the top of the maker.

Next I took the gold thread that I placed in the maker in the beginning of making this bow and threaded the loop it made and collected all the ribbon loops that were in the maker. Next I would tie off the bow.

After threading and collecting all the loops with the gold thread, I tied the bow off gathering it to its center tightly.

Some designers like to take a pull tie to tie their bows off. Pull ties are a plastic tie band that has a connector on one end and you put the tail of it through the connector and pull it tight around the item to be tied off. I just tied this bow off with the gold strand.
